Each of the four fire stations are manned by at least two career fire fighters 24 hours a day – seven days a week.ĭuring 2022, the Commerce Township Fire Department responded to 4,246 emergency calls for service. The Township is serviced by four (4) fire stations, which house the following equipment: (4) fire engines, (4) Basic EMT transporting medical units, (1) 3500 gallon tanker, (1) brush truck and (1) aerial ladder truck, and a rescue boat trailer. The department conducts mandatory training at least twice a month in all areas of firefighting, rescue and EMS. All of our Firefighters are highly trained graduates of the fire academy and at minimum, Basic EMT level of medical care. The Commerce Township Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 32 full-time Firefighters plus the Chief and Fire Marshal, as well as 12 part-time or paid-on-call Firefighters.
